About the Committee

Community Giving at MIT is the Institute’s workplace giving program, providing an opportunity for employees and retirees to make charitable donations to the MIT Community Service Fund and/or to eligible local charities. The steering committee, composed of faculty and staff across campus and Lincoln Laboratory, guides the program on high-level topics such as communications, donor stewardship, and workplace giving trends. At the end of 2021, the committee officially launched a re-branded program that now focuses (almost) exclusively on raising participation and donations for the Community Service Fund. The committee closely collaborates with the MIT Office of Government and Community Relations and the Community Service Fund to achieve greater support and local impact through the volunteer and nonprofit engagement of the Community Service Fund.

The Community Giving at MIT Steering Committee is a Standing Institute Committee that reports to Mr. Aaron Weinberger, Chief of Staff to the President.
